Case Entry: Create Substance Lookup for Pill ID #
This tutorial guides you through creating a substance lookup in Toxicall for a pill ID. You will learn how to use an external source, drugs.com, pre-configured in Toxicall, to find and select product information.
1. Overview of Lookup Creation #
This guide will walk through creating a lookup, substance lookup in Toxicall for a pill ID. For our example, we’re going to use drugs.com, which is pre-configured in this Toxicall setup.
2. Click Verbatim Option #
Click the Verbatim option in the ToxicallWin application to begin configuring the lookup.
3. Select Lookup Code and Source #
I’m going to use the lookup code M30. Since our default is a Micromedics lookup, we will choose one of our other options that are already configured.
4. Choose CAS Micromdex Lookup #
Click the CAS Micromdex Lookup Testing option to select an alternative lookup source in ToxicallWin.
5. Initiate PIL ID Search #
PIL ID with Drugs.com and the search is initiated.
6. Perform Manual Search on PIL Imprint #
Since Drugs.com is not directly integrated with Toxicall, we have to come to the PIL imprint screen to perform our search and then CTRL V to paste. I’ll choose the search term M30 and initiate the search.
7. Find and Select Search Option #
Find the appropriate product for your search.
8. Click View Details #
Click the View details button to see more information about the selected product.
9. Highlight and Select Product #
Now that I’ve found my product, I’m going to carefully highlight the product name. Then I will right-click and choose select product.
10. Click Select Product #
Click the Select Product button to add the highlighted product to your selection list.
11. View Product in Selection List #
Notice the product comes back in my selected list. I can also scroll down. In this case, I’m going to look at one of the NDC codes.
12. Highlight and Push NDC Code #
I’m going to highlight that, right-click, and push that to the NDC number within toxiCALL.
13. Click NDC Number Field #
Click the NDC Number field to prepare for entering the selected code.
14. Complete Selection with Accept #
When I’m done, I will choose Accept.
15. Click Accept Button #
Click the Accept button to finalize your selection and apply changes.
16. Review Product and NDC Details #
And notice my products has been brought back over. We can see the details in here, and under additional details, we can see the NDC code was brought over.
17. Click Substance Tab #
Click the Substance tab to view related substance information for the selected product.
18. Initiate Multiple Lookups and View Details #
And as with other product lookups, we can initiate multiple and also view the details that we found from the website.
19. Click View Button #
Click the View button to see additional lookup details from the website.
20. Click Close Button #
Click the Close button to exit the lookup details screen and return to the main interface.
