MedDRA Alignment, toxiCALL® 5 Updates, and More!

Poison centers are preparing for the NPDS 2027 Clinical Effect alignment, and many of you are also asking where toxiCALL® 5 stands today and how it compares with toxiCALL® 4.

We are focused on both needs: helping you prepare for the upcoming NPDS changes and continuing the development of toxiCALL® 5.

NPDS 2027 Clinical Effect Alignment

We are preparing the NPDS 2027 Clinical Effect alignment for both toxiCALL® 4 and toxiCALL® 5. Our focus is on making sure centers using either platform have the updates and information needed to prepare for this change.

The Clinical Effect alignment involves more than simply replacing codes. It includes new and revised terminology, retired Clinical Effects, an updated organization, and information that must remain understandable when you review both new and historical cases.

For toxiCALL® 4, we are incorporating the updated Clinical Effect data into the existing platform’s capabilities.

toxiCALL® 5 gives us additional opportunities to make these changes easier for specialists to understand and use. This includes expanded descriptions, historical information, synonyms, improved organization, and enhanced search capabilities.

Our goal is to support your center through this transition while providing specialists with the information they need to understand the updated Clinical Effects during case entry and review.

Where Is toxiCALL® 5 Today?

Development of toxiCALL® 5 continues with an emphasis on the workflows you use every day and the feedback we receive from centers evaluating the platform.

Current capabilities and recent development include:

  • Updated case entry and case review workflows
  • Redesigned Case Notes and review tools
  • Local and network case operation
  • Local Mode when access to the network database is unavailable
  • Background case upload capabilities
  • Expanded dashboards and case management tools
  • Improved lookup and search capabilities
  • Additional descriptions and synonyms for coded information
  • Flexible center and specialist configuration options
  • Continued refinements based on poison center feedback

toxiCALL® 5 is designed to preserve the flexibility you have relied on in toxiCALL® while providing a modern foundation for continued development.

Adding Flexibility with toxiWEB®

toxiCALL® 5 is also designed to work alongside toxiWEB®, giving poison centers additional flexibility in how they access and use information.

toxiWEB® extends the platform with browser-based capabilities that can complement the Windows-based toxiCALL® 5 environment. This gives centers more options for case management, reporting, dashboards, case review, clinical rounds, and other workflows that benefit from web access.

Rather than forcing centers into a single way of working, our goal is to provide complementary technologies that can be used where they make the most sense.

For poison centers, that means the ability to combine the depth and operational capabilities of toxiCALL® 5 with the accessibility and flexibility of toxiWEB®.

How Does toxiCALL® 5 Compare?

If your center wants a clearer picture of what has changed, we have updated the toxiCALL® Features Comparison.
