›User Interface & Workflow
A modern workspace that adapts to how each person works.
A workspace users can make their own
Arrange screens and Case Entry layouts around individual preferences, including themes, font size, grid columns and other presentation choices.
Keep familiar preferences wherever you work
Many personal selections—including layouts, grid columns, themes, Quick Access choices, window positions and the previously open workspace—can be restored. In toxiCALL® 5 and toxiWEB®, these settings follow the user between workstations.
Work across tabs, windows and monitors
Keep cases, reports, dashboards and other work items open at the same time. toxiCALL® 5 allows tabs to become floating or docked windows and move across monitors, while toxiWEB® provides the same familiar tabbed organization through the browser.
Handle multiple exposures faster
Create related exposure cases together instead of repeating the same case-creation steps one case at a time.
Start cases from reusable templates
Coming SoonPre-populate common case information from templates instead of re-entering the same data. The underlying toxiCALL® 5 template capability is already used by the multiple-exposure workflow; a dedicated user-facing Template workflow is coming soon.
Merge cases with review and control
Coming SoonCompare cases before combining information so users can make deliberate decisions about what should be retained. The underlying toxiCALL® 5 merge capability is already used by the multiple-exposure workflow; the dedicated Merge Case comparison interface is coming soon.
Search dropdowns the way you work
Use Starts With or Contains searching in toxiCALL® 5 dropdown fields, with the selected mode remembered by field for each user.
Design the Case Entry experience you need
Design Case Entry layouts that can be completely different from the standard toxiCALL® 4 or toxiCALL® 5 screen. Create comprehensive or limited-purpose views, add/remove fields, save alternate layouts and share them while security roles control who may make changes.
Keep the hallmark single-screen workflow
toxiCALL® keeps the full case visible within a single Case Entry screen, supporting rapid review before follow-up without forcing specialists through a sequence of separate entry screens.
Keep Case Notes in view while working in the browser
toxiWEB® can keep Case Notes visible while the user continues through the scrolling Case Entry workflow, reducing unnecessary back-and-forth scrolling.
Protect work with background Auto Save
Reduce the risk of lost case-entry work with background, time-based saving while the specialist continues working.
Review the case while keeping notes in view
Use the Case Review workspace to review a print-preview representation of the case while simultaneously managing Case Notes for QA, follow-up, Notes Redaction and other review activities.
›Substance Management
Flexible substance records, ordering and calculations that support real poison-center work.
Manage substances around real workflows
Control substance ordering and maintain flexible records while preserving familiar poison-center practices.
Capture Routes at the right level
Retain familiar case-level Route capture while allowing Routes to be defined for individual substances in toxiCALL® 5 and toxiWEB®.
Calculate with greater flexibility
Use available patient-specific calculations and expanded unit conversions, with additional advanced calculations continuing to grow.
›Substance Lookup & Research
Move from external reference material to usable case information with fewer handoffs.
Pull more data from each lookup
Return richer information from supported sources, including multiple substances from a single toxiCALL® 5 lookup, and retain important details for case review.
Get useful data from virtually any web source
Use approved reference sites or search the web, then pull selected details back into toxiCALL® 5. Centers control permitted sources, browser choices and supported-provider sign-in.
›Clinical Data Management
Manage clinical effects, therapies, routes and scenarios as living, searchable data.
See clinical descriptions and synonyms at a glance
Use popup and tooltip-based views to understand Clinical Effects, Therapies, Routes and Scenarios without leaving the clinical workflow.
Search clinical terminology by more than its name
Search Clinical Effects, Therapies, Routes and Scenarios using names, descriptions and synonyms.
Extend clinical terminology for your center
Add center-created descriptions and synonyms so local guidance becomes part of the same terminology specialists search and review.
Use CAS guidance—and make it your own
Start with CAS-distributed descriptions and synonyms, then add center-specific guidance so specialists see and search the terminology your center actually uses.
Find Healthcare Facilities faster
Search Healthcare Facilities using more of the information available during a call. toxiCALL® 4 searches by Name; toxiCALL® 5 expands the search across Name, Shortcode, City, Phone and additional configured fields.
›Adaptability
Respond to new programs, studies and reporting needs without waiting for a software release.
Adapt without waiting for code
Create new data items, fields, rules, forms and exports for outbreaks, studies, state requirements or contracted services.
Coordinate programs across centers
Export and import configurations so disconnected centers can collect harmonized data for multi-center programs.
Turn flexibility into opportunity
Support funded studies and industry-client programs with client-specific entry layouts, validation rules, reports and dashboards while the poison center controls how those data are used and made available.
Start with what already works
Clone an existing report, dashboard, validation rule or other supported configuration item, then modify the copy instead of rebuilding it from scratch.
Add local values without breaking required reporting
Centers can add locally defined values—such as additional Gender selections and other center-specific options—while maintaining required reporting workflows.
›Reporting, Dashboards & Data Discovery
Turn case data into reusable reports, interactive dashboards and faster operational decisions.
Ask more questions of the same data
Search the full database, save and reuse criteria, personalize grid columns, and output the selected data to CSV, Excel and other supported formats.
Keep multiple reports open for comparison
Review more than one report without repeatedly closing and reopening report output.
Design, modify and share
Use the 150+ report library, modify existing reports and dashboards or build new ones to meet center needs, then share appropriate designs with selected centers or the broader community.
Move from insight to action
Use interactive dashboards, drilldowns and configurable refresh—then open a case directly from an operational view.
Automate recurring reporting and surveillance
Use Batch Reporting for scheduled report production and established criteria to trigger reports or email notifications when conditions are met.
›Data Sharing & Exports
Move data securely to required destinations while keeping export workflows configurable and reusable.
Redact once, reuse where needed
Perform Notes Redaction within toxiCALL®, retain the redacted content with the case and reuse it for RADARS®, other data-sharing projects and redacted case-detail reporting.
Keep data-sharing exports adaptable
Use configurable datasets and export definitions so RADARS®, NPDS AutoUpload and future data-sharing projects can evolve without treating every change as a custom software project.
Monitor AutoUpload from operational dashboards
Bring AutoUpload status into dashboards so submission activity can be reviewed alongside other operational information.
›Flexible Access & Resilience
Support desktop, browser, tablet and downtime workflows without forcing one way of working.
Put the right experience in the right place
Use the rich Windows experience for full specialist workflows and browser access where web-based or focused access better fits the user.
Adapt Case Entry across screen sizes
toxiWEB® uses a free-flowing, scrolling Case Entry design that adapts naturally across different screen sizes. Full Case Entry is best suited to larger screens, while smaller devices provide convenient access for focused tasks, case review and information lookup.
Invite the right people when needed
Give clinicians, residents, consultants and other invited users appropriate access, including case-level restrictions and tablet review during rounds.
Keep working through interruptions
Use offline workflows for network loss, planned downtime, unreliable VPN access or complete site disruption, then upload later.
Use enterprise authentication that fits the platform
Use Windows / Active Directory authentication with the desktop products, with enterprise single sign-on planned for the browser.
Recover access without an administrator
Use self-service password recovery where supported instead of relying on an administrator to reset every forgotten password.
›Evolution & Control
Adopt change at a manageable pace while retaining local control.
Modernize without giving up control
Separate many configuration changes from traditional software releases and keep adoption aligned to center readiness.
Move from toxiCALL® 4 in phases
Migration does not have to be a single cutover event. Centers can migrate in phases, rerun migration as needed, and choose whether previously migrated cases are overwritten or ignored.
Expand the system around changing needs
Add data items, workflows and center-specific capabilities while retaining control over application-version timing and CAS metadata releases.
›Support & Partnership
Go beyond technical support with practical guidance that helps centers meet changing business, workflow and data needs.
Support that starts with your business goal
CAS goes beyond restoring operation: we help clarify the need, identify the best capability across the toxiCALL® suite and simplify the path forward.
One complete support relationship—not a tier
Every client receives responsive product support, practical guidance and continued help adapting to changing poison-center needs—without purchasing a higher support tier.
›Deployment & Hosting
Choose the environment that fits today without locking it in forever.
Your network — Your cloud — Your provider
CAS focuses on being the toxiCALL® and toxiWEB® software expert while each organization works with the network, systems and hosting experts appropriate for its environment.
Change environments as needs change
Back up and restore the database into a rebuilt destination environment, preserving flexibility as security, standards and hosting economics evolve.
Managed hosting without software lock-in
Early AccessUse an experienced provider for infrastructure and first-line triage while CAS remains the sole-source provider specifically for toxiCALL® and toxiWEB® software.
›AI-Assisted Capabilities
Practical AI capabilities are being introduced in toxiCALL® 5 for exploration and client feedback; toxiWEB® capabilities are planned based on client needs.
Summarize information for faster review
Early AccessUse AI in toxiCALL® 5 to summarize case information and explore report results without positioning AI as autonomous clinical advice.
Explore natural-language assistance
Early AccessUse SmartPaste, semantic search and AI-assisted report design in toxiCALL® 5 as practical capabilities continue to mature.
Turn natural language into working filters
Early AccessDescribe the records you want to find and let AI assist with constructing grid-filter criteria, then continue refining the result as this capability matures.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
Early AccessUse the center’s own supported AI account and credentials for direct control over availability, usage and cost. OpenAI is supported today; other providers may follow client demand and technical availability.

Built on toxiCALL® — Extending the platform with toxiWEB®
For more than two decades, toxiCALL® has evolved around the day-to-day needs of poison centers. toxiCALL® 5 carries that experience forward with a more configurable desktop platform, while toxiWEB® extends the same product family into browser-based workflows, broader access and new ways to work with poison-center data.
The goal is not to replace familiar workflows simply because technology changes. It is to preserve what works, remove unnecessary limitations and give each poison center more flexibility in how its systems evolve.
