ToxPDX v2.0.0.17 IBM/Truven Server Update

Error on Multiple Workstations?

If the error is isolated to a single workstation, typically after a new install, the patch details below will be helpful.

If the error is presented on several workstations, the issue is most likely related to something on the network that is blocking traffic or having some protocols disabled. Please contact your IT and/or security team.

Summary: #

This update is to address the Micromedex Internet data transfer problem introduced by IBM/Truven on Wednesday evening, February 9, 2022. On Thursday CAS met with the Micromedex team upon their request. CAS identified at least one unaffected toxiCALL® workstation which continued to function properly, confirming a solution should be available which does not require changes to toxiCALL® software. It was CAS’ understanding that IBM/Truven was working to identify a solution to ensure all poison center clients could function properly in their new server environment.

For convenience, these details have been included in our toxiCALL® discussion forums.

Solution: #

Based on the communications being distributed by IBM/Truven, CAS took to finding an alternative solution. As a result, we have a new version of ToxPDX v2.0.0.17 available for easy implementation on each toxiCALL® workstation.

Based on our understanding, it seems that IBM/Truven has changed the specifications required for their Internet connectivity and failed to communicate this information to CAS. Our solution addresses the problem and provides an immediate solution for all our client poison centers.

Implementation: #

CAS is distributing a new ToxPDX.exe file which can be copied into each toxiCALL® workstation. The file will replace the version typically found in the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CAS\Toxicall\ToxPDX\
After copying the ToxPDX.exe file into this folder, you will find the Micromedex lookup and data transfer function properly.

An exe download and Zip download is available below in case you are unable to reach Dropbox or download the EXE directly.

We apologize for the need to release this version. This requirements change has taken all of us by surprise.

Please reach out to support if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Tom
