Occasionally, Windows applications will appear in the taskbar, but the window is unavailable. This is an infrequent but recurring problem and is not unique to toxiCALL® applications. This occasionally occurs in Microsoft Word, Excel, Notepad, and non-Microsoft applications. The problem is that the application window is open but is not showing on the computer screen. It has moved offscreen as if to a second monitor which does not exist, thus the application is hidden.
The following steps provide a simple solution to bring your application back into view.
- Ensure the TCN window is selected as the active window. This can be done by selecting it in the taskbar.
- Press ALT-Spacebar. This activates a Windows Menu, which may or may not be visible.
- Press M (letter, lowercase is okay)
- Press the RIGHT-ARROW on the keyboard. Any arrow key will work.
- Now move the mouse.
After these steps, you should see the application window moving with the mouse. Click the mouse and the window will now be usable again. However, you may need to resize the window. Ensure the application window is active if these steps don’t work the first time.
The problem of the application being hidden has been reported with toxiCALL® 4, toxiCALL® Data Analysis, toxiCALL® Convert Notes, and even in toxiCALL® 5.
